What Is a Fixer?
A fixer is a local coordinator, production manager or field producer — the person a visiting news crew relies on to turn a story idea into a shoot that actually happens on the ground in Israel or Palestine. Every fixer we appoint is dedicated to one production at a time, handling logistics, security and content advice rather than juggling several crews at once.
Since 1998 we have provided fixer services for news productions from BBC, Channel 4, National Geographic, Discovery, PBS, Arte, ZDF, ARD, Fox, TBS and CGTN, among many other broadcasters and streamers.
What Our Fixers Do
While the fixer is with the crew on location, they stay in constant touch with our Tel Aviv office, which provides news alerts, logistical assistance and online research when needed. Our professional Palestinian production team is based in Bethlehem and can provide any production service there — an Israeli fixer accompanies productions filming inside Israel, while a Palestinian fixer works with crews in the West Bank or Gaza.
We also use interview bookers to find the best interviewees for the project, and our fixers work in English, with several also fluent in French, German, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Hebrew. We keep producers based in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and elsewhere in Israel, ready to join a production at short notice.
Our Wartime Experience
We have worked with foreign news crews in Israel continuously since the 2nd Intifada in 2000–2003, through Israel’s military campaigns in Gaza and the 2nd Lebanon War in 2006. The Hamas massacre of October 7, 2023 changed the scale of that work overnight — within 48 hours we had more than 15 fixers working alongside visiting news crews from around the world, a level of mobilization we sustained for visiting crews in Israel and the West Bank until the news cycle eased in January 2024.
